Precision Farming Courses – On-Line Education Thanks to the European Funding

The Agri‑Digital Growth project has officially begun publishing five new free online courses in the field of precision farming.

Their aim is to strengthen digital skills in the agri‑food sector in Central Europe and to improve the competencies of precision‑farming specialists. The courses were developed by experienced educational partners and respond to the needs of enterprises and professionals working on the implementation of precision‑farming solutions. The programme and content were created by an international team of 10 organisations, including 3 universities, 2 research and development centres, and 5 business‑supporting organisations.

Each course consists of modules and short lessons, enabling gradual and flexible learning. The micro‑credential structure includes 8–12 hours of expert video lectures, around 2 hours of quizzes and a final test, as well as additional time for self‑study using supplementary materials. Participants who complete the full course and pass the test receive a certificate of completion.

Importantly, two of the five planned courses are already fully available on the ICARUS e‑learning platform developed by project partner 28DGTL. The following have already been released: – Precision Farming Basics, – specialised courses within the Precision Farming pathway, – introductory modules on digital technologies in agriculture. The remaining three courses, which complete the profile of a precision‑farming specialist, will soon be made available to learners on the same terms. Completing Precision Farming Basics together with one specialised course allows participants to obtain the Precision Farming Specialist certificate, supporting professional development in modern agriculture.

The launch of the courses marks an important step in fulfilling the mission of the Agri‑Digital Growth project, which aims to accelerate digitalisation and innovation in agri‑food SMEs.
