Pilot Course: Data Processing and Al

The Data Processing and Al course developed by experts from Plan4all (P4A) covers the complete data lifecycle in agriculture and  unfolds how the decisionmaking processes can be supported with agricultural data, advanced processing techniques and AI.

From data collection and digital technologies to processing, interpretation, and Al-driven applications, the course participants will get familiar with precision farming data ecosystems, geospatial data, remote sensing, FMIS, GIS, loT, Big Data, machine learning, Explainable Al, Large Language Models, and Digital Twins. The course explains how intelligent systems support efficient resource management, improve farm operations, and the transition towards data-driven and autonomous agriculture.

Image-based sensors appear promising for early stress identification as they display plants quickly and nondestructively, recording subtle changes in phenotypic traits. Information derived from images has the potential to parameterize ecophysiological models and predict the impact of environmental factors on plants. In this context, artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a key factor for smart irrigation, providing sustainable solutions to viticulturists facing the challenge of increasing yields and quality while conserving water.
